Meagan Harris MACP, RCC

Welcome!

I’m Meagan and I’m passionate about supporting individuals as they heal, grow, and reconnect with their inner strengths. Starting counselling — whether it’s your first session ever or you’re meeting a new counsellor — can feel like a big and sometimes overwhelming step. It takes courage to reach out for support, and I’m committed to creating a warm, welcoming space where you feel safe, respected, and truly heard.

Do any of these statements sound familiar?

·      I don’t know why things that happened in the past still feel so real and upsetting

·      I have a hard time with my emotions – I often feel overwhelmed or shut down

·      I’m tired of being my own worst critic

·      I’m used to being the strong one for everyone else - but I need some support

·      I just want to talk to someone who understands me

My areas of focus are:

·      Stress and overwhelm

·      Relationships and setting healthy boundaries

·      Self-compassion

·      Emotional regulation

·      Life transitions

·      Perinatal mental health (including assisted reproduction, infertility, donor conception)

·      Trauma and abuse

I work with adults (19+) and see therapy as a partnership, where your needs, values, and strengths guide the work we do together. I believe you are the expert in your own life, and I’ll always honour your choices and the pace that feels right for you. You don’t need to have all the answers or clear goals when you come in — part of our work can be exploring what feels most important to you.

I draw from approaches that are grounded in research and have helped many people move through pain toward healing and growth. I’m trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and I always tailor the work to fit your unique needs. Healing is possible, and you don’t have to do it alone. Wherever you are in your journey, I’m here to walk alongside you with warmth, support, and care.

A little about me: When I’m not in session, you’ll likely find me getting lost in a good book, biking with my partner and kids, or being herded around by our high-energy cattle dog. Baking is one of my favourite ways to slow down and practice mindfulness; there’s something grounding about the focus and comfort of creating something from scratch.

Credentials:

·      Registered Clinical Counsellor in good standing with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (Member # 25097)

·      Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology

·      Basic Training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
