Evan Arndt, Student Intern

Hi! My name is Evan. I am so glad you are here.

As a student therapist, I am passionate about exploring profound questions and helping individuals create healthy relationships, connect with their emotions, and navigate challenging decisions.

My work centres on exploring big questions and helping people identify their true selves and live according to their values. Regardless of what you're struggling with, I know how helpful it can be to have someone to talk to, and I hope to offer that support to you.

Approach

Grounded in an existential and humanistic framework, I aim to create a safe and collaborative space where you can express your true self, discover meaning, and experience freedom amidst life’s uncertainties. My work incorporates relational and emotion-focused theory to help you explore your feelings toward yourself and others and better understand how your relationships have impacted you.

I am committed to collaboratively exploring strategies that help you develop coping skills aligned with your values, enabling you to face life's uncertainties and challenges.

About me

When I'm not engrossed in my schoolwork, you can usually find me playing basketball or team handball or working out whenever I get the chance. When I want to keep it more chill, I'm probably at home watching a Marvel movie or TV show or playing video games like The Last of Us, Uncharted, or The Legend of Zelda. I also enjoy downhill mountain biking in the summers or simply taking a drive to go and sit by the water.

My personal journey navigating the difficulties of academia with a learning disability and the difficult mental toll of rehabbing from countless sports-related injuries are just a few of the (many) reasons I felt drawn to counselling.
