Beth Scholes M.A., R.C.C.

WELCOME, I’M BETH AND I’M GLAD YOU’RE HERE.

Healing is attainable . . . for you or your loved one. It does require work and I am ready to work alongside you.

Many of my clients often share the following statements, do any of these sound familiar?

-       As a parent I feel a lot of guilt.

-       I’ve never been to counselling, talking to a stranger makes me nervous.

-       I am experiencing a spiritual crisis.

-       I’m not coping well; I can’t seem to control my emotions.  I get overwhelmed, anxious, or angry a lot.

-       Parenting is not what I expected, I love my kids, but this is really hard!

-       My racing thoughts are hard to control, I often feel overwhelmed!

-       I need some support; I don’t feel understood.

-       I feel stuck.

-       I need some relationship skills; relationships feel really hard for me.

-       I feel lonely. I feel really alone, and like I’m different or weird.

-       I blame myself a lot when things don’t go perfect.

-       I am an overachiever and I over plan a lot.

Your counselling goals may be: Connection, belonging, greater confidence, assertiveness- ability to say no!  Increased positive feelings, resilience, and ability calm. Also, self-compassion, emotional stability, empowerment, and healthier relationships.

I enjoy working with people to facilitate growth and change. Whatever prompts you to seek counselling you need not face it alone. Together, we can work toward healing and change. My therapeutic work provides a safe place for healing and deep emotional work to occur. I help clients utilize personal strengths to create a healthy relationship with Self, others, and their world. I bring a collaborative holistic healing approach to my counselling practice which is tailored to clients’ needs.

Along with my Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology, life has taught me numerous lessons about grief and suffering, which inform my practice. I bring resiliency to my work, learned through the lessons of parenting, aging parents, marriage, friendship, loss, and trauma. Counselling has created change in my own life, and I was drawn to become a counsellor due to my extroverted personality and my empathic, caring nature.

My idea of fun includes the people I love laughing together around good food and board games. I also enjoy the beauty of our nature here in BC.
