Amy Dreyer, she/her Student Intern
Welcome—I’m so glad you’ve found your way here. As a student therapist, I am passionate about fostering connection and supporting clients in their journey toward healing and self-discovery. I believe the root of suffering often lies in disconnection—from the self, the body, and others.
My work centres on helping clients feel less alone in their pain.
My Approach
Grounded in a trauma-informed, queer-affirming, and feminist perspective, I aim to create a safe and collaborative space where your voice and experiences are honoured. I integrate relational and collaborative approaches into my practice, tailoring each session to meet your unique needs. My work incorporates attachment theory and polyvagal theory to help understand how the body navigates trauma and safety. Together, we can explore strategies to build coping skills that align with your goals and well-being.
I am committed to walking alongside my clients as they explore what matters most to them, discovering or reconnecting with their strengths, values, and sense of self. I hope that together, we can create a space that supports your unique journey and the changes you hope to see, whatever those may look like for you.

A Little More About Me
When I don’t have my head in the books (hello, grad school!), you’ll often find me exploring the trails of the North Shore Mountains, savouring a good cup of coffee, or soaking up any dapple of sunlight. The ocean is my happy place—whether I’m watching the waves roll in, dipping my toes in the water, or simply breathing in the salty air. I also enjoy listening to podcasts, spending time with my two dogs, and occasionally tackling a 5K run (sometimes enthusiastically, sometimes not so much).
My own journey navigating the intersection of mental health and spirituality is one of the (many) reasons I was drawn to counselling. I know how relieving it can be to have someone walk alongside you during difficult times, and I hope to offer that same support as you navigate your own path.
Amy is working Wednesdays at Thrive Collective beginning in January 2025.
